Dry retching - should I be worried?

Hi all,

For the past few weeks, every day and sometimes several times a day, i'll go through periods of dry retching for no apparent reason. I can feel when an 'attack' of dry retching is about to occur. It's really strange.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

PS I've never actually once been sick because of it.

It sounds like some sort of inflammation down your throat affecting your gag reflex. If it were me I'd to go to the GP and let them take a look.
