How do you know if you have worms or just an itchy bum? it does seem worse at night which is a symptom I know, but I haven't seen any in stools or paper.

Could be piles, lemons: they can be intensely itchy.
You need a trip to the GP to be examined.

Threadworms are tiny, you wouldn't see them on paper. Get some Ovex and take that, if you are still itching then go to your doctor.

Get the gp to have a look. I suffered for about a year with this because I was too embarrassed. Turns out there was a fissure (unhealed since dds birth) and a week of steroid cream cleared it right up! I had assumed it was piles and so was taking stuff for that....which obviously didn't work!
