Oh bless you.

Not sure if there is anything you can take to stop the vomiting but you can get special drink sachets from the chemist that are for rehydrating you during sickness. I know you're finding it hard to kepp things down but I would suggest just lettle sips now and again.

Can you not ring the doctors and tell them it's an emergency or ask if you can speak to a Dr over the phone.

tubismybub · 30/01/2007 08:34

Good lord awful spelling in that post!

SSShakeTheChi · 30/01/2007 08:34

Oh you poor thing. Really don't know how to help if you can't even keep water down. Are you taking vitamin drops? Hope it gets better soon. Your ds sounds sweet

Sugarmagnolia · 30/01/2007 08:35

You can try some homeopathic nux vom 30c (or 6c if you can't get 30) - take two pills or tablets every half an hour up to a maximum of 6 doses. Can you get someone to run out and get some for you ASAP?

NotQuiteCockney · 30/01/2007 08:35

Are you keeping liquid down? (Are you peeing? And is your pee a reasonable colour?) Are you still throwing up, even if you don't eat or drink? Are you throwing up bile, or blood? (Easy to do, if you damage your oesophagus from vomiting too much.)

If you're dehydrated, I'd go to A+E. They will give you an intramuscular shot, to stop the vomiting. Only if you're not pg, though.

Sugarmagnolia · 30/01/2007 08:37

BTW - the homepathic tablets are very small taste quite sweet and you're just meant to suck on them. The tablets are coated with the remedy and it gets absorbed into the body through the mouth. So even if you are sick again after you've had them you should still get the benefit.

I think there is a nasty bug about at the moment. I took my SIL to a+e last week as she had been ill for 4 days. They gave her an antisickness injection and pills to take away, pain killers for the stomach cramps and two bags of saline as she was so dehydrated. Don't let it go on too long. Call the doctor out if need be. You can't let yourself lose too much water. Hope you feel better soon x

Budababe · 30/01/2007 08:45

If you can't keep water down try flat 7-up. Seems to help me if I have an upset tummy.

Poor you - sounds horrendous.

IamPotty · 30/01/2007 08:46

Insist on an emergency appointmet TODAY! You have a child to take care of and should be on the mend ASAP!

suedonim · 30/01/2007 15:23

You may be feeling better by now - I certainly hope so - but if not, you can buy Buccastem tablets from a chemist. They're an antisickness drug but you don't swallow them. You put them between your gum and your cheek so they are absorbed via the mucous membranes in your mouth, thus bypassing the difficulty of taking meds then promptly vomiting up again.

Sugarmagnolia · 31/01/2007 13:26

any better?

Longlegs1972 · 31/01/2007 13:32

My first thought was, god just think how much wait you will lose!!

Then I realised that might not be much help... Only take little sips of water at a time. I had this a week or so ago and it was just awful.

I hope you feel better by now

3littlefrogs · 31/01/2007 16:46

Try sucking ice cubes - stay down much better and you absorb more water that way. BUT - you cannot carry on like this - it sounds more than the usual sort of tummy upset. You need to see a doctor and if not GP then A&E or walk in centre. Is there no-one who can take you to hospital or help with the children?

tiredemma · 31/01/2007 18:00

sort of feel better today, feel a bit woozy every now and then, but I have managed to keep food down. Went to chemist yesterday morning and got some Dioralyte and some antiemetic Buccastem???

Felt like crap all day, and even this morning still felt awful. God knows what it was- but I have NEVER been so poorly in all my life.

But on a bonus note- I appear to have lost 7lbs in weight since I last weighed myself on friday night, so it did have on benefit!

How are you today? Just a thought, but if there is any chance this could be food poisoning you should see a doctor and get checked out. Some food poisoning bugs can be really nasty and have longer lasting effects.

tubismybub · 01/02/2007 21:07

Glad you're starting to feel a bit better. I took Buccastem for morning sickness, didn't know you buy it over the counter though.

at the 7lbs loss, although not at your bug!

PeachyClair · 01/02/2007 21:22

I took bucasten as well, didnt work for me BUT Avomine did and that's alsoa vailable over the counter (as a travel sickness pill).

Take heart, my friend just ahd her first ever holiday abroad and came back with dysentry- could be worse LOL

suedonim · 01/02/2007 22:03

Glad you're over the worst and hope you're back to full health asap.
