He's just got over chicken pox and I know his reisistance is low, could it be connected? What should I put on it? He says it's quite sore. Is tee tree oil any good?

Definitely a low-resistance thing, albert - poor lad, boils on bum are very sore - I don't know what you can put on it apart from a nice thick plaster to pad it, but give him lots of fresh orange juice and extra Vit C to help him fight it off.

How are the dry nights going btw? I was thinking about you yesterday and planning to look for your thread today!

Oh Janh, thank you for thinking of us! Will dig out the plasters, he'll love that! He feels very brave when he has a plaster and likes to show every one - hmm, might have a problem there, I can just imagine him flashing his bum around!! The dry nights are going pretty well actually, only three soggy ones to date.

You could put some magnesium sulphate paset on the plaster to drwa out the pus. You can get it at the chemist.

You can get magnesium sulphate paste at the chemist - dab a bit on the boil cover with a plaster overnight and it will draw all of the nasties out hopefully clearing up the boil sooner than it would if left to dry uo naturally.

Thanks mears that sounds good, wonder how to say that in Italian though (I live in Venice and yes, bloody gondola going past my office window right now)

Ouch! I used to get these throughout puberty (not on my bum though). I always bathed them with hot (as hot as poss without burning) salty water to bring it to a head. Eventually it would burst. I was always amazed (and morbidly fascinated) by the amount of pus and blood that emptied from it!! And also amazed at the almost instant pain relief once it had drained.

Don't I sound like an attractive teenager. lol.
