So worried

So I developed a tooth abscess over the weekend. Couldn't get to an emergency dentist. I did ring the helpline but she said she couldn't give me an appointment because I hadn't taken the maximum does of painkillers to see if it would 'improve'
I was trying to avoid them because I'm breastfeeding. I explained this. Now I have started to feel all tingly and restless. I'm so worried it's spread to my blood and then I'll give it to my baby. Can it spread in 3 days????
Could this just be anxiety or the start of sepsis so worried.

Do you have garlic in the house? You could chop up a clove of garlic and take it on a spoon with a glass of water, like a pill every two hours. Personally I prefer garlic capsules, two every two hours, but they are brilliant for fighting infections.

I managed to get to an emergency dentist who opened the tooth and drained some of the abscess and then put an antibiotic dressing inside until I can get to a dentist of my own. But my face is still swollen. How long does the antibiotic inside a tooth take to work? They didn't prescribe any tablets. I'm worried

It'll start working pretty swiftly. I have an infection that was forming into an abcess and have no dentist either. Saw the emergency one who took away the filling on top of it, leaving a hole to drain the infection. I have to have the tooth out at some point soon, but the pain has gone, as has the swelling. I've not been prescribed any antibiotics. You'll be fine, don't worry.

Madizzy how long did it take for your swelling to come down. Mines still here 2 and half days later

Yes the pain has gone unless I bite down on it. I am seeing the dentist on the 2nd September. I will look for some garlic capsules, I made a garlic and clove paste but it didn't taste very nice lol

Salt water is brilliant to swill mouth out with. Dentist said will keep everything clean. 1 teaspoon of salt in warm water. Swill every few hours.
