ds has been up in the night a lot screaming saying "eye"and grabbing his eye. this morning hes got green gunk coming out of it and been screaming on/off all day and grabbing his eye.the white is still white.under his eye he looks like hes smacked in the face and his eye is now noticeably a lot smaller than the other one.

is this normal, would it be hurting him in spells that much?

ive been bathing it in salt water as apparently 2year olds cant have anything from the chemist for it

mum said she'll take him to docs in the morning,im at work. but wont be if hes up screaming all night

hang on, one eye is smaller than the other?

that can't be good

was going to say conjunctivitist but...

also if he's in pain...

if he is screaming and you have given him some sort of painkiller then I'd get him to out of hours gp rather than making him go through a night in pain

poor you and minibrandy7

filly, when i say smaller i mean wheres its swollen iykwim.

thing is with theout of surgery, you go up there(its in our local hospital) and they give you a prescription which you cant gettill morning anway

I really wonder if it might be periorbital cellulitis if it's reddish purple in coulr and swelling up so that he can't easily open his eye.

Does he have a temperature?

If you are worried I would take him to A+E.

Does it look like this ?

brandy7 · 28/01/2007 18:32

hmm

but if it is serious, they can get medicine, can't they? from the hospital pharmacy?

surely?

there must be a way to get him medicine if he needs it out of hours!

seriously, I wouldn't mess around if one eye is swollen...

brandy7 · 28/01/2007 18:33

not that bad. you can still see his eye, it does look small but not totally closen like that poor little one.thanksyou
