So help me diagnose these symptoms

So before anyone starts shouting at me I have got a doctors appointment booked for today.
So I have had 2 different lots of symptoms going on for a few months. Life's very busy and stressful so I've just ignored them. Until now when they've got to the point I feel too poorly.
So problem 1 is my ears and throat. They feel painfull and my throat feels swollen mainly on a morning. I can live with this but now it's making me feel dizzy and my ears feel full constantly.
Problem 2 this bothers me the most. I have had a pain int the bottom of my tummy for a long time. This is now spreading up the sides of my tummy and into my back. The pains were that bad yesterday I was actually crying. I have been getting hot flushes also but no where near the age for menopause.
Any ideas what could be the problem?
Also have a merina coil if that could mean anything?
Tia

How long have you had the mirena and when did symptoms start?

Lots of people report side effects with mirena which doctors deny as hormone levels are "too low" but it could be connected to the hit flushes.

Not sure about pain, best thing is to do what you are doing - see a doctor and get a proper medical opinion. Just make sure you express how bad it is, and how long you have already lived with it, do they don't send you off to see if it gets better in a couple if weeks.

Good luck x

Well I would leave it to your doctor as I have no medical training at all, but my husband had some similar symptoms and ended up getting prescribed omeprazole for gastrointestinal reflux. He was also very stressed and busy and even though he stopped taking the medication when the symptoms cleared up, they do come back whenever he is stressed out again.
Good luck with the doctor.

nomoreheroes · 02/08/2016 10:44

Ha, I should point out my DH doesn't have a coil nor does he experience hot flushes!! It was more the sore stomach and sore throat I was referring to!

judgeaway · 02/08/2016 10:49

I got the marina in June 2014 so had it a while now.
I'm already on omoprazole daily as I have a hiherttasernia can never spell it.
This is different.
I know the doctors is the best bet but will have 2 dc with me 1 with asd, so just thought it might help to hear other people's suggestions aswell so I don't get fobbed off Grin

Is it your actual stomach (as in the organ) that hurts? Or is it abdominal pain? And if it's abdominal pain where in your abdomen is it, if you imagine lower abdo is below your belly button?

judgeaway · 02/08/2016 11:07

Sorry abdominal pain. It's lower abdo and yesterday was up the sides around kidneys

Uti maybe?

Hay fever or tonsillitis

judgeaway · 02/08/2016 12:44

So been to gp. There not sureConfused.
Got to have swabs and a scan

OP posts:
gandalf456 · 02/08/2016 13:27

Swabs on your throat and a bladder/kidney scan?

judgeaway · 02/08/2016 17:47

Nope she didn't even look at my throat and ears.
She's booked me in for swabs down below on the 24th and then she might refer me for a scan if there clear.
So I'm just left in agony

So in even more pain this morning which has also spread to my right side wish I knew what was causing this

OP posts:
OrangeSquashTallGlass · 03/08/2016 10:42

Sorry you're suffering with this. What kind of pain is it?

judgeaway · 03/08/2016 11:06

I don't really know how to explain it. It's a constant pain worse when walking or when I sit down get up. I have had problems in the past with constant bleeding but this has subsided at the moment as I've had the merina coil

OrangeSquashTallGlass · 03/08/2016 11:18

Could it be endometriosis? It won't show up on any scans - you'll need to get your GP to refer you to gynecologist, preferably an endometriosis specialist.

Also, are you sure you managed to clearly get across the amount of pain you're in to the GP? If it's agony as you say then you need to make another appointment and at least get effective pain relief while you're awaiting testing and diagnosis.

judgeaway · 03/08/2016 11:26

Yeh but she sees me a lot due to ds2 and she just said your strong you'll cope with it take paracetamol [cant take ibuprofen]
I'm thinking I might have to go see a different gp. I have a really high pain threshold have given birth twice with no pain relief.
But I'm constantly on the go up and down especially with ds2 who is 4 but has asd and is more mental age of 12 months

Y maybe you need a different GP. There's more pain relief than paracetamol and ibuprofen. And there are options that don't even involve medication: some endo sufferers find that a TENs machine is helpful for example.

In the meantime make sure you're taking the paracetamol effectively - you have to take it regularly (but not exceed the dose obv).

36mum · 03/08/2016 11:53

Allergy or an intolerance

judgeaway · 03/08/2016 19:08

Intolerance I have a dodgy stomach lining and a hiherttasernia never spell it right.
So I've been taking paracetamol regular today but hasn't helped.
I've had problems for years that they keep brushing off. Like I bleed non stop unless I have the depot injection or marena coil
