It's getting me down, and DH is still out and the DS are more interested in Scooby Doo and i have no one to moan to.
I am not due back to Rheumatologist until March, and i just feel painkillers not working, and generally just feeling sorry for myself.

Sorry to hear it saltire. What kind of pain is it - I don't know your history. If it's inflammatory would a soak in the bath soothe you a bit?

It's hard to describe the pain eemie. it affects my forearms, wrists, ahnds, tops of arms, shins, ankles and feet. The pain isn't there all the time, and not all affected areas are sore at once IYSWIM. At the minute the pain is in my right hand and wrist, going up my forearm, and in my feet. I am typing most of this with my left hand. The pain seems to be in the muscles and ligaments, not the joints. The current flare up has been going on for more than a month.

Have you recently had a baby?

Hello! I do lymphatic drainage massage. not the pathetic light touch shit, the proper hardcore deep cleansing toxic clear out! I treat a few people like you who have found that colonic irrigation, detox diet (which is actually very nice not horrible and boring!) and lymph drainage seriously helps. If your body is finding it hard to remove waste your lymph vessels will swell leading to internal pressure in muscles which press on nerves leading to pain signals.
Its worth having an epsom salt bath to start waste removal followed by lots of fresh apple juice to help liver plus milk thistle tincture (bioforce is good brand from any healthfood shop) ( 3xday for 2 weeks) to support liver and then try cutting out all processed refined food plus beef, pork and cow's dairy and alcohol and see if you improve after a couple of weeks. Also drink more water. If you do perhaps a colonic irrigation would be worth considering plus lymph drainage.
Good Luck xxxxx

Can you not be seen by the rheumatologist any earlier than March?.

eemie · 28/01/2007 21:12

How is it today saltire?

saltire · 29/01/2007 13:34

Sorry for not replying yesterday, wasn't too great.
The pain is still here today, in both my feet and left shin.
My appointment with rheumatologist is a follow on. First time i went she decided i had chronic pain syndrome, which is apparently caused by trauma to limb. Well i have had no trauma to any limb. She also suggested that i walked funny and that was the reason for the pain, yes, that could explain my legs and feet, but i don't walk on my hands! Was referred to Podiatrist, who gave me things to waer in my shoes, this caused lots of pain, so don't know if they worked or not.
I had to get splints for my wrists, as, when the pain is really bad, the wrist goes weak. I also get pins and needles of the pain goes on for more than 24 hours, and i limp. I haven't yet given into it - i still get up, do my daily routine, childmind etc, but i am getting to the stage now where i feel i am slowly giving in to it.
I came on here to maon, as i think DH doesn't realise how much it gets me down

I have decided, after a chat with a friend that i may have fibromyalgia.
I don't have the pressure point pain that sufferers usually get, but have a lot of other symptoms that are common in sufferers of Fibromyalgia.
Anyone got it, or know someone who has it?
