Post colposcopy bleeding, what is normal? (possible TMI)

Hello
I had a colposcopy a couple of days ago and have had quite a lot of bleeding since. The leaflets said to expect a slight brownish discharge, but this is actual red blood and fairly heavy. Is this right?

TIA

Sounds odd - I did not experience heavy bleeding.

Mine was 2 weeks ago. Had lots of black discharge but nothing like what you describe. I would give the hospital a call if you are worried.

Hope you are ok.

I too would give the hospital a ring on Monday.

I'm otherwise fine, I think I'll give hospital a quick call, I was under the impression it formed a soft scab which fell away after a few days and caused some spotting but not immediate bleeding. Its unpleasant.

No I had no bleeding or even spotting - please ring the hospital.

Good luck! Flowers

No blood here; is your period due?

heygotanygrapes · 23/07/2016 23:10

Went to gynae today, they suspected infection and sent me off with antibiotics, hopefully thats an end to it. Thanks for all your advice.

Glad you've been checked out. Oh the joys of gynae problems.

heygotanygrapes · 23/07/2016 23:41

The joys indeed, and I've still got my CIN result to come.
