Lump on vulva - TMI!

Evening.

Not sure if I should be posting this here or on sporner corner, but I have a feeling their regulars lurk over here.

A couple of days ago, maybe three or four, I noticed a little sore lump on my vulva, it's right at the top, just where the tissue becomes mucosal, between where the labia majora separate. It's red, inflamed, a definite lump, about 4mm x 4mm, no obvious whitehead. But it's a bit tricky to see, I've been pulling some sexy moves in the mirror to just see what I've seen so far Confused may have also been using my camera on my phone. Sexy. Over the past couple of days it's become a little sore, not painful as such, just that I know it's there all the time, it's feels like a bite almost, a bit tender and stingy.

I've recently been shagging New Bloke but we've used condoms. I know that they don't protect against everything and I've convinced myself that this is herpes.

I've booked myself in for a 'symptomatic' appointment at my local GUM clinic next week and all sex is cancelled for the foreseeable future obviously, I just wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom?

Thanks.

It's probably sore because you keep trying to take a look at it. Smile

It might be a blocked pore, which has been triggered by all the extra action and the weather or something. But only the GUM clinic can tell you for sure, and you've already got an appointment.

Very true Grin it's taken every strength of my being not to squeeze at it!

Go for a warm bath and pop that sucker.

EBearhug · 21/07/2016 01:08

Don't. I have a massive abscess because of not leaving one alone. I nearly passed out with the pain, it was so tender. Fortunately, it started discharging itself today, and oh, the relief of the pressure going down! Bit messy, mind you! I don't have to be quite so careful about how I sit down, though.

LumpyFloo · 21/07/2016 01:10

I won't give it a squeeze as there's no head, if it's some sort of cyst/in growing hair/spot it's definitely not ripe just yet. I'm leaving it well alone, just the occasional fiddle with a clean finger. God I feel like a minger!

It sounds like a Bartholin's Cyst. If so, brace yourself if it develops. I have had two and they were more painful than childbirth. I would say the first one took about four days to go from mildly painful lump to can't walk agony.

Do go and see your GP tomorrow. They are very common and not usually connected to sex. My first burst as I was waiting to be taken to theatre to have it lanced, on day five. My second was lanced relatively early on at a GUM clinic (I was staying with friends and there was easier access to that than a GP). Both times I took antibiotics afterwards.

It's definitely not a bartholins cyst, it's not in my vagina. It's a good inch and a half away from my vagina in fact.
Plus it's been there a good few days and is only at a tingly stage, it's definitely not painful, just a bit tender.
I'm not sure I've ever talked about my fanny so much before!

I should have said, mine were also on my vulva. So not technically a Bartholin's Cyst, but the GP said it was pretty much all the same thing - same symptoms, and same reoccurrence annoyingly. I hope yours stays tingly though!

LumpyFloo · 21/07/2016 01:36

Haha thanks, fingers crossed its a cyst and not bloody herpes! Though it's more of a lump. If it was on my chin I would be excited about the whitehead that was brewing, it doesn't seems typically blistery like herpes, but, worst case scenarios and all that.
Should consider myself lucky that I can get myself into a doctor led GUM clinic in less than a week really.

I know this is a really dull explanation but it just sounds like you have a spot.
