Why won't my 4 year old dd eat?

I am sooooo frustrated with her. Today she has eaten a bit of scrambled egg, half a jam sandwich, half an orange and now only 4 mouthfuls of her tuna/sweetcorn pasta. I have banned all snacks so I know she is not filling up on rubbish during the day.

She used to be such a good eater. She loved all fruit and veg. Doesn't like sweets or chocolate very much so she is quite healthy I would say but this last 6 months have been awful.

What else can I do!!!!!!1

actually a food diary is not a bad idea. It could be a phase I suppose.

My 4 yr DS is exactly the same. I think it is a phase. He eats ok in the day, its just his dinner he wont eat. I have changed the times that we eat to try to fit in with his appetite, but that hasnt worked. I refuse to cook 2 meals, he says that he doesnt like virtually everything that I cook and that he would like plain pasta with cheese. I make healthy home cooked stuff like casseroles, pasta dishes, pies etc and my 1.5yr old gobbles it all up by DS just refuses. I think he will move onto something else and if he was hungry he would say.

Hi helsi - hopefully it's a phase. My ds has been exactly the same. Used to eat so well and then nothing! He hasn't eaten a full meal for over 6 months now. It turns out that he has enormous tonsils and we think that maybe that's the problem.

My guess would be a phase, I think they all do it some point - horrible isn't it?
