Nail half off

I crushed my finger clean break a month ago and now my nail is detaching on one side and at the bottom it only seems to be attached at the top.

I keep catching it on things should I attempt to trim off all the lifty up bits or just tape it up for the time being and hope it grow out and new nail grows back in?

I'd tape it up and go to minor injuries clinic /nurse clinic at your gp? I pulled my big toe nail half off and they removed it at a and e with gas and air but I don't think yours will need that!

It'll grow back fine (but you won't think that while it is growing!).
You can just tape it up to stop it catching on stuff, but with water and that the tape might keep coming off. So GP might have a better solution till it falls off.
