Hi, 5 years ago I had a mammogram as I had terr ible pain in my left breast that radiated down my arm... It was all good news everything clear.. However due to my age I am due another mammogram , I am concerned about mammograms & exposure to radiation I have done a bit of reading up and a number of women refuse them due to the risk of increasing their chances of cancer in the future. Now while I realise that mammograms can be life saving I too am worried.. Any thoughts please? :)

Radiation is everywhere. You actually receive more radiation when flying in a plane. Breast cancer is well treated when caught early, so I have a yearly mammogram+tomography+ultrasound.

I thought you got more radiation from watching TV and using a computer screen.
