Yesterday I took the kids to a party, and whilst there, someone told me that one of the parents was having an epileptic fit. I saw where she was and noticed that someone had sat her on a chair and left her, so, I got someone else to take over what I was doing and went and took charge

She had been left on her own in the hallway so I just took her coat off and undid her cardi as the hall was very very warm and got someone to get her a drink of water as well as putting a coat at the side of her head so she didn't bang it on the door.

I couldn't believe how people had reacted, and what a dangerous position they had put her in. so it's made me realise how essential first aid training is, so this morning I have signed back up to do a refresher course.

To be honest, I took it in my stride,I know it sounds horrid, but, when it concerns other people I don't panic, but I do panic when it concerns family and friends.

My dd2 got distressed as she wanted me in the room with her etc, i've just to wait now for the starting date of the refresher course.

Well done for taking charge and knowing what to do.

I need to look into doing a first aid course.
