Shingles?

I've got a weird tingly feeling on/around my right shoulder blade. I've had it for about two weeks now, and it seems to be getting more intense as well as more frequent.

It is hard to describe...kind of itchy, sore, achey, ants crawling under the skin tingliness and quite painful and irritating. There is no rash, redness, swelling etc.

I was wondering if it might be shingles and if I should see my GP? Anyone know if shingles would be tingly all the time, or intermittent like this is?

I have had shingles, for me it was a few very painful spots on my back.
They weren't itchy or tingly as far as I can remember (14 years ago).

I think my experience was atypical though as I really didn't have any other symptoms, I got a lot of sympathy because usually shingles makes you feel very poorly and I was pregnant and had a toddler.
Do you feel well otherwise?

With those symptoms, I think you should see your GP and say you're potentially contagious. Hope it improves soon.

I had those symptoms but I also had the spots / rash. I thought you had to have the rash for it to be shingles. To be honest mine hurt for 24 hours before the rash came out though.

Thanks for all the replies....I will try and see my GP. I don't feel ill exactly but am having testing for Coeliac/Crohns at the moment, and having an allergic flare up which is being treated with a course of steroids, so not feeling 100% either!
