Bleaching Hair During Pregnancy

Can anyone give me some advice about this? I once heard that you shouldn't bleach/dye hair during pregnancy as it can be damaging to the baby.

Someone else said that this wasn't true. Can anyone clarify???

I'm not sure about home dye kits or anything, but my hair dresser uses organic hair dyes and they are ok to use when pregnant,

I have dyed my hair since I was 13 almost continually, the last time I was pregnant it was to go black with red stripes! I think there were questions raised about problems using hair dye in pregnancy but ths is only for the first few weeks I think, though nothing conclusive was ever proven.

I think you should be more worried about the changes in your hair because of the pregnancy and the chances that it will end up green instead of brown/blonde/black. I haven't had any problems, but I've heard rumours that it can happen.

I asked the same question to my hairdresser when I had my done a couple of months ago, she says it is more the fact your hair changes while pregnant not that the dye gets to the baby. My colourist is pregnant and colouring hair all day.

I dyed my hair when I was pregnant too. I was told the colour would take more. However with the scares about toxic shock syndrome and hair dyes I wouldn't like to chance it now if I was pregnant. For all the ins and outs of hair dyeing whilst pregnant, why not consult your pharmacist?
