Losing weight without trying

At what point is weight loss an issue?

I am overweight. I do need to loose a few pounds, so was quite pleased to see that my weight has gone down over the last month. In have lost a little over 5lbs in a month. We have had a hot spell (last week, not this week - wet, wet, wet) so I am aware my eating habits change when it is hot.

Would you talk to a GP about it, or just think that it is fine and see how the next month goes. Is there any guidance as to what is reasonable weight loss and what is something to be concerned about?

Sounds fine to me

I'm going for blood tests this week due to unintended weight loss. I think I have lost about half a stone over the last few months. When I looked it up the guidance was that 5% of body weight lost was worth looking into. I don't weight very much so half a stone is a lot to me so depends on the %. Have you noticed any other symptoms?

5% would be quite a lot for me, think I have lost about 3% so far.

Yes there are other symptoms, such as being more tired, poo is rather loose. Have booked a GP appointment as it does not seem to be the normal me.

Do you have any other symptoms? Anxiety, irritability, frequent urination? Get the GP to check your thyroid. They could be symptoms of thyroid issues
