Weird tongue! !

I get a little white patch in the middle of my tongue, it's not a patch as in the furry white stuff like thrush or anything. It's like my tongue is white in that place.. I've actually had it come on and off for about a year! When I first had it it was a bit like a bump there now it's just while n weird.. It had disappeared altogether at time & when I've been to the dentists they have either not noticed it or it hasn't been there at the time... I forget to mention to docs or don't want to as I get health anxiety from time to time..
Any ideas?? Wonder if it's an allergy or from smoking menthol.

I would make an appointment for your dentist or GP to look at your tongue particularly as you smoke and you have had this on and off for the last 12 months. It should be checked out.

It is better to get this checked out as soon as you can because you will simply continue to wonder about a possible cause.

My doctor's can fobb u off quite a bit aswell & my dentist tbf! I know the doctor wud just say it wqs nothing.

It seems to be clearing up a bit now.. its like dead skin in the middle of my tongue lol or hard skin.. ya can pick bits off it!!

Go to the dentist. My mum has two white patches (leukoplakia) and she's just had them biopsied in case they are cancerous and is waiting for results next week.

Ye it's not them sort of white patches tho its really weird.. its more like my actual tongue than a white patch if that makes sense

Taste buds? They fall off sometimes....
