My mother has a burning just under her skin on her leg. What is it?

There is no swelling or mark, just this burning sensation inside her leg. She went to the doctor's who examined her and declared that it wasn't thrombosis, but didn't declare what it was.

Anyone have any idea? I've told her to go to another doctor but she can't be arsed.

It could be shingles

When I had it I thought I had burned my wrist on the oven

wel,, TBH heat is one of the classic symptoms of DVT..you can have one without all the symptoms...my mum had a DVT without the hot sensation....my sister has had two, i had a suspected one...has doc measured her calf....done any other tests? she should find out for sure what it is......

Thanks for this, I thought DVT as well. Shingles eh?

The doctor sounds really useless, she just said it wasn't thrombosis but didn't actually say what she thought it was.

cellulitis? Causes reddening of skin, with itching. Really feels as though you are burning (mine was actually misdiagnosed as DVT). Would also be quite swollen.

Hmm, I had cellulitis and it was very itchy at first rather than burny
