my ds2 is almost 4 and has a very dry, persistent cough. over and over again day and night he coughs it doesnt seem to really bother him. he has been coughing like this for years actually, mainly march til june, when it seems to be at its worst. though he is coughing again now (i think he is coming down with an illness that dd has). just picked him up from playschool and teacher commented on his cough and asked if he was asthmatic.
i aw dr about it a couple of years ago and shereferred him to ENT clinic at hosp but by time appt came (in the sept) cough had gone!
do you think i should frogmarch him back to doctors and demand immediate attention at clinic? or is it just one of those things he might grow out of?
any experiences or help would be appreciated. thanks!!!

Hi, sounds like my son! Has coughed since little, all year though. When 4 and a half, started having wheezy attacks very quickly, every 2 weeks. Prior to this his nursery teachers had commented on him being breathless when running a lot, and he would be tired easily when walking. Was given a reliever inhaler in case needed it, but quickly needed a preventor too, as wheezy and breathless constantly. Has settled a lot, but can't do without them at the moment, probably suffers every 3 weeks. His cough has ben removed because of the inhalers too. He has a lot more energy too. Keep your eye on him, as it suddenly came from nowhere, my older 2 don't suffer at all.

post when you find anything out. Your son is just a bit younger than mine. Not sure how old they usually are if they are going to get it?
