Hello everyone!

I posted a couple of months ago following an US that shows a 5.3 x 5.3 x 6.5 ovarian cyst.

Since then I have had more intense symptoms etc and saw a the gynecologist on Monday, who said it has been so long since the US I need a knew one and that my GP did not do the correct blood tests so has reordered , CA-125 test and included alpha feto protein, beta HCG, Ca 19-9, carcinoembryonic antigen and LDH test.

He asked a lot of question and hinted at the chance of a missed miscarriage. Has anyone had these tests? what happened and what did your gynecologist do?

He said if the bloods and scan are normal I don't need to go back which doesn't really explain the pain and other symptoms?xx

Hi PoppitFox

I read your post the other day. Have been diagnosed with a 10cm complex cyst on tight ovary and currently waiting for appointment with gynae. Can't answer any of your wry stains but thought I'd try and bump your post to the top to see if it helps get response from anyone else on here.

I'd be curious to know more too.

Good luck!

Right ovary, not tight, though I'm sure it's all pretty tight in there with a cyst that big... Feels like it anyway.

Oooh-also "wry stains" was meant to be "questions". Ah well, bumped again!

Just doing bedtime will reply properly when I've finished thanks for bumping xxx

Hi PoppitFox

How are you doing? No worries on the reply not posting up. I've done that on here before too. Wanted to reply sooner to the above but things have been moving along really quickly. Saw gynaecologist, got booked in for surgery, MOVED HOUSE last week and I'm actually posting now from my hospital bed as I had the cyst removed Wednesday morning!!! Grin

I'm grinning from morphine and can't quite get to sleep as I've been sleeping on and off all day. Feel great all things considered. a nurse forbodingly told me every day would be "different" so I might well be in agony tomorrow.

My gynaecologist tested me for CA125. It came back fine. Turns out mine was a dermoid cyst-the yucky one with teeth and hair in it. He took the ovary with it but checked my other one and said it was fine.

How are things with you now anyway? Did your test results come back okay? What type of cyst is it? From what I've heard the remove cysts that are anything over 7cm in size. That's rubbish if you are having side effects though. Hope you're okay!
