Missing Mirena Coil, or any other coil. Scan next week, anyone else been there?

I had DD in August, despite being told in April that my Merina coil was still in place and there was no point in doing a pregnancy test. I had been at the drs with bad flu and also complained about putting on weight, specific to abdomen.
The Doc checked and said that the coil was still there, I asked for a p-test but she said there was no point. I decided to do one anyway and found out I was pg.
When I went for a scan (for dating as much as anything - I hadn't had any periods for over 6 months) they thought they could see the coil really low down in the pubic bone area.
Since then it has not been seen.
I have a scan coming up to see if they can find it again. The MWs checked the placenta and I never saw it exiting b4 that when my waters broke or anything.
Anyone been there? You lot seem to have a wealth of knowledge. Help me out (OK I admit it I am getting a bit twitchy )

I wonder too, though the scan should sort that I guess. I have found another thread about this coil so am trying there for anyone who may have had something like this happen.
