Prevenar - has anyone's child had red blotchy skin on the injection site for a while afterwards?

Ds had his Prevenar injection on Thursday - his leg was a bit red and swollen, which I thought was probably normal, but it hasn't gone away yet. He is fine in himself, no temperature. NHS Direct say to keep an eye on it and to call back if it gets worse (but it is hard to get them to say anything else...)

Not entirely happy about it though, so just wondered if anyone else had experienced this after Prevenar...

hi, we have our prevenar injection on tuesday - her leg was a bit swollen and red, but it went down after a nights rest (and some serious grumpiness). i gave her some calpol afterwards though as they gave her 3 injections all at the same time.

i'd call the clinic and ask them what to do, but would be tempted to take him in to clinic so they can see it themselves.

Hi Tatties - DD had hers a while ago, when she was maybe 8 or 9 months. She didn't seem to have anything noticeable immediately, but then for 2 or 3 weeks afterwards she had what appeared like a patch of eczema around the injection site (she doesn't suffer from eczema normally). It cleared up by itself after a while.

That's interesting. Actually after posting I put ds in the bath, and the redness seemed to have faded a bit. I'll see how it goes tomorrow then speak to the nurse on Monday if it's no better. Thanks

DD had a really sore leg after hers, she woke up limping the next day.
