BV treatment

Can anyone let me know whether the pessary or the gel (Balance Aciv) are best for treating BV?

I think the gel is best as I suffer from recurrent BV and definitely noticed a difference from using the gel . However I do think antibiotics seems to completely clear nine straight away too .
