Its been for more than a week now and he doesn't seem to have his usual energy. I'm trying to feed him iron rich food but it doesn't seem to be improving.
I just want to know if anyone thinks I should be concerned and get him checked by a doctor.

Hum,

My DS (two today!) had very pale poo for a while, as far as I remember it was at a time when he was ill with a virus as well. I don't know if there is anything to be concerned about, but if you are worried he isn't getting enough iron floradix do a tonic for children which is iron rich. I gave it to my DS last spring when he had had cold after cold and it seemed to help him fight them off.

Leo, very pale poo is due to fats not being broken down properly by the liver. It can happen for all sorts of reasons, including a virus just making your LO's liver/digestion out of sorts for a while. If he's unwell because of a cold/virus, or just had one, I'd wait a bit - but if it carries on I'd see the doctor just to be sure.

thanks for the info. Elibean you definitely don't think its due to lack of iron then? He did have an overnight sickness bug which is when it started and has been a bit fussy about his food since then. I'll give it a few more days and see how he is.

do you give your ds anything with pro-biotics in? (such as actimel, live yoghurts etc??)

I gave my son these(one kids probiotic drink per day only) and he ended up with very pale poo's. The doctor told me these 'friendly bacteria' were messing up his natural balance and to stop.
Within 48 hours his poo's were back to normal!!
