Is it normal for newborn biy penis to quite often be 'flying at half mast' so to speak?

I guess so - but I've never heard of it spoken (I guess I can see why)... just checking it isn't a weird and wonderful symptom of his plumbing being in a knot...

clears throat appreciate if someone can save me an embarassing trip to the docs.

my ds's was from a few weeks old. DH talks fondly of when ds had his first stiffy - honestly, men!

quite normal!

Yes, it's perfectly normal.
It happens a lot, IME.
It enabled DS1 to perfect the art of aiming his wee straight over his own head, during nappy changes.
He once managed to aim it directly into my friend's handbag - about 2 minutes after she'd agreed to be his Godmother!

Yep, perfectly normal. My ds was always at that not quite hard, not quite soft stage as a little baby. He's now 15mths and it's working very well - especially when he grabs it and has a little fiddle!!!!! It still gives me a shock when I take his nappy off and it has popped up to say hello! (I don't like pushing it down to do the nappy up, always scared I'll hurt him, but dh doesn't think so).
