My DD1 - 5 months - who has been putting on weight well since birth and has been around the 90 - 95th percentile all the way - has suddenly not put on any weight at all in the last 3 weeks (from one weighing to the next). She is otherwise thriving but is just getting over a nasty cold which has made her more grumply than ususal and I think has been feeding a bit less. Also trying to start weaning, slowly, with baby rice once a day. Health visitor doesn't seem bothered but would be really helpful to know if this has happened to anyone else? Thanks

When ds had a cold at about 24 weeks he didn't put on any weight for 2 weeks, but then regained his appetite and gained weight again. It does seem to happen from time to time. Tbh I would drop the baby rice as it is not as calorific as milk and although you're not giving much, it might put her off her milk a bit?

My GP and hv both think weighing too often can cause you to worry too much - they suggest only weighing once a month. hth a bit.
