HI there

new to this forum

My 3 yr old daughter wakes up every morning with a severe chesty cough. she does cough a bit during the day too but not as much as the morning which is like a constant thing.

we've taken her to the doc's a few times and all he ever gives is tixilix

she doesnt have a temperature

she does suffer from a rare condition called Thalassemia Major which means she cant produce any red blood cells of her own.which does lower her immune system a bit but not too much.

any help as to solving this prob would be most appriciated - not just with medical suggestions but others too

thanks

Does she have lots of mucus or congestion? After laying down for so long it pools so a good cough is needed to clear it. You could try propping her mattress up a bit and using some olbas oil. Presumably the doctor has rulled out any kind of chest infection?

No muscus though it does sound congested at times

i was thinking croup from the description of it on the net?

i'll try some of that olbas oil. thanks

yeah there's no chest infection.

i do agree with the pooling of it during hte night but it just carries on sometimes through out the day
