Verrucas- the bastard's back!

Have tried duct tape, tea tree oil, banana skin, otc liquid, Salic acid, home freeze treatment, deep freeze treatment (100 euros and so painful I couldn't walk for a week) and time. Nothing worked. Only thing I haven't tried is paying a witch to put a spell on it ( serious suggestion made by friend) but I had to draw a line somewhere! Surely there must be a way to get rid of it??!

The only thing that has worked here is cuplex gel from Amazon

I didn't see apple cider vinegar on that list.

I had a lengthy list too, and acv did work, I had it about 10 years, and it hasn't come back now, been gone about 3-4 years.

Warning, it hurts, but after everything else you have tried, it cant be worse....

Another vote for apple cider vinegar! Brilliant stuff! If you google tit there's loads of advice about how to use it.

I had an awful wary on my thumb that went underneath my nail, I couldn't get rid of it, had tried lots of things for 18months, used ACV and gone within a fortnight. Best thing is the ACV only kills the wart, it doesn't kill healthy tissue. Also had a verruca on my heel that could not shift, tackled it at the same time, took a bit longer to go than the wart, but did the trick too.

And yes it does hurt, best to apply overnight, but really works.

I will be honest, it wasn't an 2 week thing for me. That verucca was a deep old fecker, it took about 2.5 months of doing it every single night.

But it worked.

Hit it with a bible.

Actually that might be for something else.

The bible thing is for the lumps you get on your wrists - ganglions. My grandad used to offer to bash one for me when I was little!

OP I used to have trouble with verucas, including clusters of the buggers - yy to deep freezing being the worst thing ever. In the end a brilliant GP told me that he had never never seen an elderly person with one, and therefore if you ignore them, they have to disappear - and he was right, in my case at least! (Never tried acv, though, will recommend that to ds1 next time he gets one.)

I have one right on the end of my little toe (toe curls under the next toe, so the hard skin grows sideways) which I've had for at least 30 years, I've tried quite a lot of stuff but not apple cider vinegar. Biggest difficulty is getting any kind of plaster to stay on, as even duck tape falls off . I bet the bugger is still there when I'm properly old.

The only thing that worked for me was losing my temper big time and attacking the fucker with some sandpaper. I filed it all the way down until it was flat with my foot (this took a while) and it bled like buggery for about 2 days but then scabbed over and went away completely.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this - GP was horrified when I told her!

My 10yr old daughter suffered with verrucas she had between 4 and 6 on each foot. We tried all sorts of over the counter creams and a prescription from GP none worked so she had them frozen by the nurse and still they came back. The only thing we have had any success with is Aloe Propolis Cream by Forever Living.

Another shout for ACV

Is it on your foot or a child's? One of my sons had loads of them when he was about eight years old. I spoke to a chriopodist and they suggested doing nothing! It's all to do with your immune system apparently. He was confident they would go on their own. Treatments are as I'm sure you know very painful and not very successful. So we did the leave it and see approach. When I went to cut his toe nails a few months later I noticed that they had all vanished.
Interestingly verrucas can also be a symptom of much more serious illness. Again probably to do with immune system. But forget I said that as I don't want to worry you and it's usually when there are loads of them in adults.

Bazuka extra strength works here. I tend to file off and repaint most nights instead of just reapplying as the instructions say. Usually gone within a week, including one of 10 years vintage. Far quicker than DD's £45 visits to the chiropodist (took 3 freezes - never again) and the home freezes are useless.

Agree Bazuka Extra strength! I have treated two big feckers with this stuff. I just kept reapplying every night until eventually it formed a lump that fell off. Leaves a lovely big hole but tends to heal over in a few days. You aren't meant to use it on kids I don't think but I used it on my 7yo godson and he survived...
