Can a general optician detect inflammation from auto immune diseases in the eye?

Yes , they can tell it is inflamed but not the cause or diagnosis - you need an ophthalmologist for that.

Should have said, They would need to be looking with a slit lamp of course.

In my experience not with iritis which is auto immune.
