Just after some words of encouragement/advice really.
I suffer from quite horrific insomnia. have done for quite a while now. Have done EVERYTHING I can to try and beat it but nothing has worked. I'm talking nights where I don't sleep for a single minute and it is wrecking my life. I went to see my GP who put me on Temazepam a couple of months ago and it has been brilliant but she wont prescribe me anymore after the latest script because I will 'become addicted'. I am not supposed to take them every night but the nights I don't have them I don't sleep. I was awake until 4.30am last night and just feel like crying. GP is going to refer me for CBT but am wondering what happens if that does not work. I am getting so depressed at the thought of it all. What else can a GP do? Has anyone had CBT that has successfully treated their insomnia?
