Gallbladder removed?

Has anyone had their gallbladder removed?

Any tips please? How long does it take to recover? Will things be any different afterwards?

Thanks

I had mine out and was fine 3 days later. Aside from people with additional circumstances, I can't imagine why their recovery took so long. Yes, some discomfort remains for a while but it's no big deal. I've had 13 major surgeries and this was a walk in the park.

Well I suppose every'body' is different, I was looking for advice from anyone who has experienced similar problems of dry skin, hair and eyes etc. You are lucky you recovered so easily, I'm just worried that this is how I'm going to be for the rest of my days, and those are just the visible symptoms, what's going on inside the body when it's not getting these essential fatty acids is really worrying,
I wish the medics would discuss these issues beforehand instead of saying you'll be able to home the same day/ back at work within a week etc, it's the long term problems that are the problem, for some people anyway.
I've started taking cod liver oil tablets again, hoping that I can absorb them without any more digestive problems.

I got some Sea buckthorn capsules and some digestive enzyme capsules today from a health food shop, the Sea buckthorn is supposed to be good for dry eyes etc, we'll see how it works out after a few weeks.
