I have a lump on my vulva. Not a wart and not a whitehead. It's pea sized and seems to be under the skin. Is this something to worry about? Never had one before Confused

I've had a couple of ones sounding similar to these over the years, turned out to be ingrown hairs (yuk - sorry!) and have "popped" and disappeared with hot cotton wool ball and tweezers...

PiperChapstick · 20/03/2016 22:39

Oh blimey! Don't like the sound of that I am a right fanny (pardon the pun)

I've had one and had to get anti biotics from the doctor.

Bartholins cyst?

ClopySow · 20/03/2016 22:48

I had one on my labia. Was like a small hard pea size lump. I bothered it for ages then one night a month or so ago it just popped. I think it was an ingrown hair. No trace of it now.

Fedup21 · 20/03/2016 22:49

Does it hurt?

Owllady · 20/03/2016 22:49

Hot bath and squeeze

They are so painful whatever they are

I had a lump in the non-hairy mucous membrane bit of my vulva/labia once. Totally freaked out and went to a walk in std clinic as couldn't face my GP. They said it was probably a blocked gland and to watch it for a week. TMI warning 2 weeks later it was like a marble and I could see that it was white/yellow inside - before that it just seemed like a pink lump. Huge relief as I'd convinced myself it was some rare cancer of the lady garden. It got sore for a few days then I burst it in the shower almost by accident when I was washing. Full of cheesy gross waxy stuff.

... Whistles and walks away....

PiperChapstick · 20/03/2016 22:55

It does hurt yes. Think I may ask DH to ply me with vodka and pop it for me

Thanks for responses. Will take a closer look!

It's probably just a spot. Poke a pin in it Grin

LurkonTAthread · 20/03/2016 23:04

Sounds like a Bartholins cyst, should go away without you doing anything, but if not or it hurts, see a doctor. I've had a few, once got infected, made me quite ill and was due to have it lanced under GA when it popped on its own... ugh. Came back again, was large, so had it removed and "marsupialised", no problem since....

LemonShizzleCake · 20/03/2016 23:05

This looks like it has the potential to develop into a nice sporn thread.

PiperChapstick · 20/03/2016 23:45

Lovely. It's all pink and shiny.
I could no more stab a pin in my lady garden then I could in my eye Confused
