Cochlear Implant

My Audiologist has said that a cochlear implant is possibly a good option for me. Has anyone here got any experience of them?

Just came across this from an unrelated Google search and noticed that you hadn't had any replies, so thought I'd offer my bit if you're still interested?

I'm bilaterally implanted myself (was done at 2 years old) so can share plenty of info from first hand experience!

@RuFiOooo Hi. Just came across this post and wondered if you could give me your experience of the cochlear implant?

My 6 week old has recently been diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at severe level. She is having hearing aids fitted in the next few weeks but most likely will be going down the cochlear implant route in the coming future. We've already been referred for assessment.

Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thank you.
