Chest infection- amoxicllin prescribed. How long before it kicks in?

Dm has started antibiotics Friday so now had 6 doses. Cough still quite bad. When should she see an improvement?

It won't shift the cough in my experience. Mine really kicked in in terms of eliminating closed in feeling in lungs and breathlessness on day 3.
