After googling symptoms (I know), I think I am suffering from this. It has only started recently and had my third attack half an hour ago. Pain this time made me nauseous. I had to sit on the toilet with my eyes closed until the pain passed. Just wondering if anyone has this.

I've had it.
Usually during the night, very occasionally during the day.
I'm convinced it's reaction to stress, a bit like IBS IYSWIM.
I used to get it more often, but maybe no more than half a dozen times a year.
It IS agony and I found the best way to ease the pain was to sit on a hard surface.
I sympathise. It's evidently not serious but is a real pain.

In a way I'm just relieved that I found an answer to my symptoms. It has come on during the night previously, but this time during dinner, luckily at home. Thanks for the reply.

It is ghastly. It's like a labour pain / contraction and can make you feel sick as it's so painful. I found sitting on the loo made it worse but sitting on something hard (maybe just sitting up in bed) and gently rocking forwards and backwards seemed to ease it a bit. Although it's hard to do so, trying to relax and control your breathing, slowing it down, helps. Ive had it come on slightly, in company, which was terrifying, but it went away. I suspect it's one of those things that the more you worry the more likely it is to strike as it's anxiety-associated (with me).

Yes, it was kind of in the back of my mind about if I have an attack at work (in a school - great). I have anxiety/depression anyway, so will have to watch out when I am having low moments (though ironically it has been better later). Did you go to the docs, or self diagnose?

I never went through full labour (c sections) but that was the only sort of pain I could imagine it being like.

I googled and self diagnosed. There is no treatment and it's not linked to anything else, so just a case of managing it. I find it sometimes comes on after stress or sitting for long periods - eg a long car journey- so walking etc does seem to help control it.

I agree that stress makes it happen. Sitting on a hot water bottle relieves it.
