I've had it for a couple of days now - not as bad as it was but a bit niggly still. Am drinking Cymalon and/or water and bicarb.

Can it be beaten or do I have to go to the docs??

Complete one course of Cymalon or simlar. If it hasn't gone, then yes, go to the doctor. I went through couple of years having it on and off all the damn time. It's so much better to just go to the doc.

Drink lodas of cranberry juice and loads of water with 1/4 tsp bicarb. About 1/2 pint per half hour, alternating between the two. If it's not significantly improved by morning, go to the GP. In fact, you might be able to get away with just phoning them up and asking for a precription of ABs.
