I've got really bad upper abdomen pain, coming and going for months, but recently it's been going for less time and painful for longer-weeks. Pain has now spread to my back (bra strap height) and makes me really nauseous.
Had an ultra sound-clear
Had bloods-normal
All the gaviacon /rennies/renitidine(?) does not touch it
Had ormoprazole (?) for ulcer-nothing
Anti-bowel spasm meds-nothing
Now getting really really painful hard to carry on as normal now!

Any ideas?

How long did you take the Omeprazole for? It takes a couple of weeks sometimes to start working. It is worth continuing to take it. For me anyway it reduces the symptoms enormously.
Have you had an endoscopy? (camera down into stomach?)
Go back to GP is all I can advise really.

I suspect you need an endoscope to check for GORD. The pain from mine shoots into jaw, back and neck.

plannedshock · 04/03/2016 14:55

What's GORD? I took the ormoprazole for 2weeks I've been offered a CT scan but I'm so worried now!

Are you on any other medication?

Buzzardbird · 04/03/2016 16:43

/gord

Did the Doc say to only take the Omeprazole for two weeks?
Were you on 20mg or 40mgs a day for those two weeks. Is the back pain like someone nudging you in the back between your shoulder blades. I also get pain left hand side under ribs.
When I first started getting this I was really worried too. They did every test under sun but found nothing. They do the CT scan to check for things like kidney stones or gallstones.
What age are you? My stomach problems started around peri-menopause and I am convinced it was the hormonal shifts that messed up my stomach acid system somewhere along the way. Just wondering.

I'm 31 had 2 sections in2 years if that is anything to add. Well this afternoon I had to go to our local hospital because i could barely cope with the pain ( worst I've ever had!) I then got in with my dr who has given me forms for more bloods and a chest x Ray

Hi,
It might be worth looking to your thoracic spine- it can present as epigastric type pain and you mentioned that you are feeling it at bra strap level as well.
Hope you get an answer soon.
