I keep having shooting sharp pains in my right arm and shoulder, and it really hurts. Does anyone know what could cause this?

I sometimes get them, related to RSI in my case.

Could still be your posture, Tammybear, RSI doesn't come from just mouse work (I am very clumsy with a mouse). My upper arm/shoulder pains came on worse when I was out walking and having general arm problems the rest of the time. Also, I got a lot of RSI from playing a musical instrument. Anything detailed you do a lot with your hands can cause it.

I got rsi from using the avent breast pump - you aren't busy expressing are you ?

It is most likely to do with some way you are sitting (or some other activity) on a regular basis. I got bad neck/shoulder pain from using a keyboard every day for a few weeks when I was sitting in a bad position.
