My ds6 came down with a sick/poo bug during Christmas Eve and was poorly for xmas day, he hasnt been sick since then but hasnt bounced back either. He isnt eating properly and doesnt fancy much....even when offered any treat he desires.....He hasnt had a temperature but is really not himself. He is lying around most of the time and is very pale and has dark circles under his eyes. He is in bed now and is quietly lying down.....which he never does! I spoke to Dr today and he said it was probably Post Viral Nausea! Havent heard of this before. He said it can grumble on for a week or so after a bug. Before the bug occured Ds did complain of "his tummy burning" We just thought he needed a poo. He is still describing it in the same way. This morning when he woke up he was really tearful about how his tummy felt. Am I overlooking anything. Dr told me that if it was appendix he would be a lot sicker. Any advice?

My 7 year old has been very similar - he got he bug on 21st December and has really only livened up today and started eating again.

I would call NHS Direct - they are good.

I gave my son re-hydration powdered drinks and calpol. Its terrible to see them suffer.
dd is still getting better after going down with the lurgy on 24th too!

My ds was only actually sick for a day, although he was sick a lot. Did your 7 year old complain of tummy ache after the sickness started? I got the bug yesterday myself but am fine today. Called NHS direct and their message said that they were very busy at the moment and unless urgent to call back later. As I said I spoke to our out of hours doctors today and they said to give him plain food for a few days and rest him. If there is no improvement over next day or so I will certainly be taking him to the drs for a check up. Poor thing, he has had a pretty rubbishy Christmas....Christmas day past him by really, he didnt have the energy to open his pressies.

Have no advice but i hope all is ok when he gets home.

Hope it's okay but there are some stonking bugs about. My GP also said that swollen glands in the tummy can cause a nasty tummy pain - if it is this you may find swollen glands in the neck too. Hope he's home soon.

Yes ds did complain of tummy ache alot over serveral days - but he did have the energy for his presents!

Think its best hes at hospital - hope he is back to his normal self very soon.

DS is absolutely fine, he was home in no time on New Years Eve. Dr said it was his tummy twisting and this can happen after a bug. He said to give calpol and nurofen. He is back to his usual self today....making a mess, talking constantly, toys everywhere, went out for a bike ride.....its great to be back to normal! Thanks everyone.
