i try to walk four or five times a week, for health reasons and t try t keep my weight down. I am overweight still, though.
I have had hip pain for the last couple of weeks. Been resting most of this week, just had one walk at a very gentle pace. I have tried pain killing gel with little success. Ibuprofen or Paracetamol help. I was taking a couple of tablets before going to the gym for a couple of weeks but it seemed silly to keep on taking a tablet, then doing something which was hurting.
My hip still hurts.
I will go and see my GP but other than arthritis can't really see anything it might be.
Any ideas please?

imo you'd be better off investing in a session with a good private physiotherapist or chiropracter

Thanks I was wondering that but I need to have a chat with my GP anyway so I thought I would take that route first. A few of my friends go to an osteopath who they really rate do that is an option

I'd see your GP first, could possibly be a Labral tear?

Thanks for that. Never heard of that. The symptoms certainly seem to fit. Something I am confused about is that some searches mention pain at night. Why would this be significant?
