DS has a rash all over his body but mostly prominent on the trunk. It disappears with the tumbler test. He has had low grade fever over the past couple of days but not today, he is generally a bit grizzly and irritable but is still eating well. Any ideas?

Heat rash? Is he responsive? Do you feel he's very ill or is your instinct that he's not? If you're worried call nhs direct though for their view.

Can you describe the rash more - spotty, pimply or flat ? Roseola, viral rashes (whcih may follow cold symptoms), Slapped Cheek/Fifth disease (flat mottled body rash and red cheeks) are common at that age.

He seems a little out of sorts. He is quite grizzly and clingy. There is something going on but I dont know what or how serious it is.

DS3 is just getting over scarlet fever which I discovered when rash appeared all over his chest and back.

He wasn't excatly ill with it just abit out of sorts.

I'd call NHS direct just to see what they say. If his fever has gone and he's responsive they'll prob tell you to wait and see but worth calling.

I would call NHS Direct. I would also be concerned in case it was anything infectious, even if DS seemed not to be too affected.

I have jsut googled 'scarlet fever' the rash does look a bit like it, but has no other symptoms. I dont think he is ill enough for a visit to hospital so think will go to GP in the morning.
