Hi there I was started on premique 6.25 10 days ago just wondering how long it will take before I get any relief from these awful hot flushes. I'm really suffering .

The menopause matters forum is very informative.

The 'rule' is give it 3 months. TBH pills are now going 'out of fashion'- the latest NICE report recommends transdermal HRT ( patches or gel) for safety and they are also often more effective- the hormones are absorbed better through the skin rather than swallowing a pill when the hormones are lost/ destroyed by digestion.

Have a read about this and maybe in 4-6 weeks talk to your dr about changing types?
