I have suffered with jaw joint froblems for 2 years due to teeth grinding. I now have limited movement and struggle to chew. I was given a soft mouth guard at first which aggrivated symptoms and was then given a hard mouth guard/splint a few months ago.
The splint was very tight and hurt my front two teeth, one in particular was very sore so I stopped using it and went back to the soft one just to protect my teeth.
I have not been using the splint for at least 6 weeks now and the tooth that was being aggravated by the mouth guard is still painful. It hurts when I bite down or tap it. It can feel hot and cold but any more sensitive than my other teeth. I can't bite my food and with my jaw I can hardly chew either.
Been to my usual dentist as specialist can't get me in for a few weeks and he can't find anything wrong with the tooth but I don't think he takes me too seriously as I've been there once every few weeks over this last year with different problems relating to the jaw problem, broken teeth etc..
Anyone got any idea why the tooth might be so sore even though the dentist says it looks fine?
