Calpol Bottles - If dropped they smash into very sharp pieces

Discovered this yesterday when ours fell off the kitchen worktop onto our lino floor. the bottom smashed off and left a very sharp edge.

I know its glass but was very suprised to discover that a child medicine bottle didn't smash safely

I'm surprised you are surprised tbh - as you say, they are glass.

I don't think that you can make small items out of safty glass cheeply enough to make stuff finacially viable.

there will be storage issue, relating to the shelf life of the product that will preclude the use of plastics.

And TBH, glass breaks, we all know this, just how 'safe' do we need a world? And it may be a child's medicine, but it should always be an adult dispensing it.

What next, full fat milk not allowed in the door step bottles because it is mostly used by children in the breakfast cerial?

agree with others... surprosed you are surprised... im sure ive dropped / banged around calpol bottle loads and have never yet had one break!

it does say keep out of reach of childrne anyway so children shouldnt have access to it in the 1st place!
