Ringworm

I was diagnosed with this two weeks ago and prescribed Canesten cream.

It was an itchy, red, patch on my chest which scaled over and peeled off. I've been applying the Canesten twice daily as instructed but I don't know if it is really clearing up.

Has anyone hadthis? Should I be cured BT now? I was planning to leave it three weeks and if no major improvement go back to doc, as it could be something else?

Going on holiday in a few weeks and I won't really want to wear anything which shows this patch Blush

It took weeks to cure my daughter of this
Also you need to hot wash towels and clothes and keep it dry after washing
I would avoid synthetic materials close to it while it clears up

Pharmacist gave me a cream for ringworm and advised me to use it for 6-8 weeks.

I used lamisil gel on a patch I had as canesten didn't help. It does take a few weeks for it to clear up

Thanks for all replies.

I'll carry on with this cream a while longer then.

I am booked in with the same gp in a couple of weeks so can discuss further if no improvement.
