I know this sounds daft, please dont laugh at me!

Last summer a filling came out and then the edge of the same tooth broke. I hate the dentist....well the metal tools in my mouth makes me cringe. Like tin foil in your mouth

Anyway, i finally plucked up enough courage to go to dentist and he said he can put a new filling in ans recomended the white rather than the silver as it bonds better to the tooth.

I Have no pain in the broken tooth and he said the nerve isnt involved, and there is no decay in the tooth, my question is, can i have the filling without local anaesthetic?

Ask the dentist. Only they can say which option would be best. Sometimes it's fine, other times you could be accepting a compromise which is ok, as long as you understand that.
