when i became pregnant on the pill at 17 a few people basically told me i was stupid and should have used a condom as well cos "loads of people get pregnant on the pill." well i didn't know this i thought the pill was pretty much a sure thing for not getting pregnant. i now realise quite a few people get pregnant on the pill and in retrospect i would use a condom aswell in future, but i don't think i would go as far as to say i was stupid not to use both methods, with someone who i knew had no STIs. (when i started seeing him he had just had to had a check cos his ex had an infection of some sort.)

ANYWAY i'll get to the point. one of my friends met a girl at her antenatal class who was on the pill and used condoms but still got pregnant. has this happened to any of you? just wondering how rare/common it is to have used condoms and another method of contraception like pill, injection etc but still get pregnant really.

I was on the pill at 17 and as I was with the same partner and we were both virgins when we met we didn't use condoms, unless there was any doubt the pill would work (I had missed one etc).
You weren't stupid just unlucky, hope everything has worked out for you now.

nothing i was just told more people might know in here :S

I also took the pill in my teens, boyfriend as a virgin and didn't get pg - you really were unlucky.

My dh has had a vasectomy and I get told stories of women who've got pg after that, but I can't be worrying about everything.
