Very heavy bleeding after hystercopy

Had a hysterscopy on Wednesday, all was clear, everything looked great. Had a bit of spotting Wednesday afternoon / evening, nothing Thursday and Friday. Saturday when I was out I had a huge bleed, with large clots, and have been heavily bleeding since - emptying my mooncup as frequently as I do in the early days of my period. Am not due on for another week / ten days. Is this normal? Can it have triggered an early period or something? I wasn't really given any guidance on bleeding afterwards.

I think you should seek advice on this, although I have not had one, I think it is only meant to result in light bleeding.
I guess it is entirely possible that your period is early, but I really think you should ring for advice.

Go to your GP OR A&E if it continues and gets worse.

This is NOT normal. However, it could simply be your period.

You should have no bleeding really at all. I've had the procedure and had no bleeding even though they did a biopsy too.

You are usually told to report anything like this as well as any pain which could be the sign of an infection.

It's really negligent of the hospital not to give you a leaflet explaining what to expect. You can find things about the procedure online- have you looked?

Well I spoke to my GP who said - genuinely - "Well, I've never performed a hysterscopy, so I don't know". Which was helpful I can't call the hospital, as I was seen (on NHS) at a private hospital, and there's no direct contact details for them online, only a booking line.

Am still bleeding pretty heavily, and in a lot of pain on my left side (though that could be completely unrelated, but naturally anxious).

Having looked at that link - thank you - it says to contact doctors for pain that isn't being controlled by OTC meds, heavy bleeding or temperature. I don't have a fever, but the pain is pretty crappy, and the bleeding is heavy, so I don't know quite what to do. Maybe I'm flapping more because of the fertility issues they did this in relation to, I'm not sure.

IT doesn't matter if you had the hysteroscopy at a private hospital, you can still go to A and E. If they need further information, they will contact the private hospital.

I've had two hysteroscopies, and never had heavy bleeding and pain. I had very light bleeding, and a slight period-like ache the next day.

I think that if you are still experiencing heavy bleeding and pain, you should go to a and e. It doesn't sound right to me.
