One eyelid lower than the other....

Ds had an eye test in school yesterday. Today we've had a letter saying we should be getting a hospital appt through because his right eyelid is slightly lower than the left. His vision is fine though.

I don't understand. This isn't something visible, for sure. His pupils are equally visible as are the irises. Neither eyelid droops as far as I can see or have ever noticed. When he closes his eyes the eyelids close equally and hit the lower lid at the same time. I've even videoed this and played it back frame by frame!

I'm not questioning their skill or judgement, just that it seems so minor, to be having hospital intervention?

Or does it mean something more sinister?

It's called Ptosis...maybe you're so used to it that it's not visible to you?

I don't think it's sinister though...it's quite common.

Thank you. Dr Google says it could be a protruding eye which could be 'sinister'....

Glad to be reassured. Will wait for the appointment!
